Week 29- Baby Boy is The Size of A Butternut Squash

29 Weeks, 5 Days

Week 29 was uncomfortably great. Clay, and I spent the week in North Carolina for Christmas with my family. They loved him, he loved North Carolina, my little sister threw an AMAZING baby shower for us, and we ate Southern and Tex-mex food the whole time! We lucked out on the weather, and even got to go to the beach Christmas night. Our trip was perfect, aside from going by way too fast. Now as far as traveling during pregnancy goes..... this was the not so perfect part of the week. The rib pain is only getting worse as baby boy gets bigger. Shocking, right? Fortunately, we were at home most of the time that it was bad so I could just lay down, or Clay, and I would go take a walk, and it would get better semi quickly. I got really bad leg cramps the first two days we were there. Day 1 from the flights, and Day 2 from the road trip to the beach. On the flights back to New Mexico, my rib/back pain was so severe I spent much of the flight standing up. Of course, the longer of the two flights had horrible turbulence so I had to sit down thru a lot of it too. I don't know if it was the combination of the pain, and the turbulence or what, but when I was in my seat I was horribly nauseous on top of the rib pain. Those 3 hours went by VERY slowly. Any time I was able to stand up, I felt almost immediate relief, and once we were off the plane, everything was fine. This was all worth it, but in future pregnancies, I will probably not be flying once I hit the 3rd trimester.

How far along? 30 weeks, 1 Day today

Total weight gain/loss? Haven't checked since we got back from vacation. Last weigh in was at 20 lbs, and I'm supposed to gain 1/2 lb per week for the remainder of pregnancy.

Maternity clothes? I've gotten this far with the few maternity items that I bought around 18 weeks, and it's going to stay that way. I only have 10 weeks left so regardless of how big I get, I'll be making do with what I have.

Stretch marks? None thankfully.

Sleep? Sleeping like a rock, but am waking up noticeably earlier.

Best moment this week? The baby shower in NC that my little sister threw us! It was perfect, and really made everything set in with how close we are to meeting our sweet boy.

Miss Anything? Rare Steak

Movement? Getting stronger every day, but it's still not painful.

Food/Drink cravings? Bojangles and Chuy's. We ate A LOT of both while we were in NC.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!

Have you started to show yet? The only thing that hides it now is a sweatshirt!

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor Signs? Nope

Belly Button in or out? We're closer to an outie, than an innie at this point

Happy or Moody most of the time? Very Happy

Looking forward to? Taking Maternity pics in Taos later this month <3

Week 28- Baby Boy is The Size of An Iceberg Lettuce

28 Weeks, 5 Days
Baby's face at 28 Weeks, 2 Days

Week 28 was a great one. We found out that both of the cyst's that were on baby's brain are completely gone!!! We also got an ADORABLE 4D pic of his face (see above). And my gluclose test results came back normal! Aside from getting large, and uncomfortable, the rest of pregnancy should be smooth sailing! This week the rib pain I had been experiencing got significantly worse. To the point where for 2 days in a row, I'd come home from work, and immediately be in the bed for the rest of the night. On Thursday, I spent much of the morning on my feet vs. sitting at my desk. This made such a huge difference! I had hardly any rib pain at all. I did this as well on Friday, and the same thing Saturday, and had almost no rib pain. I'll be making a habit of being on my feet in the AM from now on. I've also developed varicose veins on my left leg behind the knee, and going down part of the calf. Why this is only on one leg, not both is beyond me. These are common in pregnancy, but not everyone gets them. I'm just special I guess. Grrr. Either way, they should go away within a few weeks/ months after the baby comes, and my Dr has me wearing circulation socks now to help. I've only had the socks for 3 days, and I really can't tell a difference. I thought they'd be really tight around the calf, but they feel like normal crew socks. I'm going to give it a shot, and if there's no change by my next appointment in 2 weeks, the Dr said she'll send me to get fitted for a really good pair. That's been the only noticeable issue. I pee pretty much ever 30 mins, especially during the day as I make myself drink a ton of water. My digestive system is working normally, no heart burn, I'm sleeping great, and no headaches. Hoping to continue this way:-)

How far along? 29 weeks today

Total weight gain/loss? 20 lbs..... My goal was to be on the lower end of the typical pregnancy weight gain scale which is at 25 lbs. It's going to be close, but we'll see what happens these last 11 weeks.

Maternity clothes? I'm living in fleece leggings, sweater dresses, and flat boots. I pretty much rotate the same 5-8 outfits, and have no shame!

Stretch marks? None thankfully.

Sleep? Sleeping like a rock

Best moment this week? Seeing our baby in 4D again, and hearing that the cysts are gone. We probably won't have another ultrasound before he's born so this one was special.

Miss Anything? Rare Steak

Movement? Getting stronger every day, but it's still not painful.

Food/Drink cravings? Nothing in particular this week

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!

Have you started to show yet? The only thing that hides it now is a sweatshirt!

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor Signs? Nope

Belly Button in or out? It's not an outie yet, but it's making its way there.....

Happy or Moody most of the time? Very Happy

Looking forward to? Being in NC with Clay & my family for Christmas!!!!

Week 27 Baby Boy is The Size of A Cauliflower

Week 27 was a good one physically, but i'm starting to notice things a bit more emotionally. I burst into tears twice this week. One time was justified, the other I honestly couldn't even tell you what I was crying about. I never went thru a big hormonal spike at the beginning of pregnancy so this is a noticeable change. We had a bit of a scare on Friday, but all is fine. Now that I feel him moving every day, and I've learned his routine, when it changed it freaked me out. He hardly moved at all Thursday night, and he's usually all over the place. I also didn't feel him all day on Friday. He doesn't usually move much during the day anyways, but I'll still feel him after I eat, no matter what time of day it is. After I ate lunch, and still didn't feel him I drank a Dr. Pepper. That usually does the trick, but still nothing. I called my Dr just to check. I was thinking it was normal, and they'd tell me to just see what he does tonight, and call back tomorrow if it doesn't change, but my nurse immediately sent me to the hospital. She said anything less than feeling him 4 times per hour is cause for concern. I had probably only felt him 4 times total in the previous 36 hours so this was a big deal! Thankfully they found his heart beat right away, and all looked fine on his ultrasound. They discovered that my placenta is in my front vs. my back. This is absolutely not a bad thing, but baby boy could've just been curled up behind it. They kept me for a few hours until his heart rate spiked twice, but I was still released that evening. Hopefully that'll be the last hospital trip before he's born, but I'm so releived everything was ok. This coming week we have 2 doctors appointments. Tomorrow is our nuero follow up to see if the cyst on the right side of his brain has gone away. Wednesday is my normal OB appointment where we get the results from my gluclose test. Deep breath in, deep breath out. They say to not stress, and relax so I'll be trying to do just that.

How far along? 28 weeks today

Total weight gain/loss? Heavy sigh as I type this, 17 lbs. I'm right on track with where I should be, but that number seems HUGE! Especially since the last weight check I had I was only at 11 lbs.

Maternity clothes? I'm pretty much over my work maternity pants. They're long so I have to wear heels with them, and wearing heels for more than 5 minutes of standing at a time is an absolute NO these days. I've been living in leggings/dresses/ and my flat boots.

Stretch marks? None thankfully.

Sleep? Sleeping like a rock

Best moment this week? No one particular moment, but the whole week went by pretty fast so that was a plus.

Miss Anything? Rare Steak

Movement? Getting stronger every day, but it's still not painful.

Food/Drink cravings? I was on a shrimp kick this week

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!

Have you started to show yet? The only thing that hides it now is a sweatshirt! Now that we're officially into baby bump, and not beer gut I'm loving it.

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor Signs? Nope

Belly Button in or out? It's not an outie yet, but it's making its way there.....

Happy or Moody most of the time? This week took a turn on the Moody Train

Looking forward to? Our Dr Appts this week

Week 26 - Baby Boy is The Size of an Eggplant!

27 Weeks, 2 Days

Week 26 was a good one! No leg cramps this week, and still no heart burn! *Knocks on wood* The rib pain is still there, but it's not consistent which is nice. He's mainly switched to my right side, or at least only jabs into my ribs on the right side now. The only steady pain is lower back pain. (Duh, right?) I'm starting to learn his schedule, which tends to be opposite of mine. He's very active at night, and in the wee hours of the morning, and pretty mellow during the day. I'm still sleeping thru the night with out having to get up to pee, and his movements don't bother me at night either. I'm up at 5:00 AM almost every day, and have really enjoyed laying in bed for an hour just feeling him move. He starts my day off good :-) A huge development this week has been getting to see my belly move as he moves. It's not clear what body part it is, but my stomach definitely pokes out when he's moving. Some people say it's creepy, I find it fascinating.

Total weight gain/loss? Heavy sigh as I type this, 17 lbs. I'm right on track with where I should be, but that number seems HUGE! Especially since the last weight check I had I was only at 11 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Still holding strong on the few pieces that I bought when my pants no longer fit. I wear the same things a lot, and I'm at the point now where I could justify buying more, but I'm trying not to. I really don't care about being "fashionable", and I'd rather buy baby stuff than buy clothes for me for just a few more weeks. I'll tackle that with the next pregnancy.

Stretch marks? None thankfully.

Sleep? Sleeping like a rock, and I've noticed that I'm getting winded a bit more easily lately. Only complaint is my lower back KILLS when I first wake up.

Best moment this week? Seeing the little dude making my stomach move when he moves. He's getting so big, and strong! Rawr!

Miss Anything? Rare Steak

Movement? More so at night, and in the early morning than during the day. I love every minute of feeling him move! I'm going to miss this part of pregnancy, I just know it.

Food/Drink cravings? Breakfast foods.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!

Week 25- Baby Boy is The Size Of A Zucchini

Oh hello there Basketball sized Uterus. Ew, Uterus. Ew, I said Uterus!

I just want to start by saying how weird the fruit/ vegetable comparisons are for each week!! He went from a grapefruit to a zucchini??? That doesn't even make sense. Maybe it's that now he's the length of a zucchini? This current week, week 26, he's the size of an eggplant. I just can't picture it. And you better believe everytime we go to the store we go thru the produce isle and hold up whatever veggie baby is and analyze it. At the very least, we've gotten some good laughs over this! I don't know if any men read this, but if you do I'll apologize in advance for the next sentence. My Uterus is the size of a BASKETBALL! A freaking basketball!!!!! This blew my mind, but is very believable when looking down. I've said it before, I'll say it again, Pregnancy is weird. Ok, well now that i've gotten WAY off topic, let's get to it.

Week 25 was a good one, with new pregnancy related developments. I started getting leg cramps, especially on the days that I would wear heels. It's not horrible, but it is enough to keep me steering clear of heels for a while. My ribs have also been getting a sharp pain on the sides at the very top. Last week it was only on the left side, but this week it's been on the right side. I don't feel movement up there, so I don't know if it is the baby's foot or not, but it's very noticeable/ a quick change when it starts to hurt. Also, my preggo related scatter brain is in FULL FORCE! Oh my goodness, I've been such a space cadet lately. Not that I wasn't always a little loopy, but it's getting noticeably worse. Apparently all of this is normal, but I'm not a fan. None of these instances were really that bad, just new occurances worth mentioning. Even with all of this, we had a great week.

How far along? 26 weeks, 2 days today

Total weight gain/loss? Ummmm. Yea, not even going to torture myself with checking this.

Maternity clothes? Big changes as far as pre-pregnancy tops; they've magically started becoming shorter. Silly bump getting in the way, and all. Dangit! I was thinking I'd get away with not having to buy new tops, but I'm going to have to get a few new ones, for work at the very least.

Stretch marks? None thankfully.

Sleep? Clay was out of town for 4 days this week, and the dogs took this as a sign that mama needs to be smothered in bed! To the point where Jeter would squish himself between my belly and the preggo pillow, and Roxy would stretch across my back side, and refuse to move when I tried to roll over. Any time I'd pick Jeter up, and move him, he's immediately dart right back to wherever there was an opening for him. He was sleeping directly against me one way or another. They were complete brats, and I didn't sleep well. I love their snuggles, but sheesh!

Best moment this week? Clay finally getting to meet Kelsey's family on Thanksgiving :-) They're like family, and I always do holiday's with them when I don't go back to North Carolina so it was really special having him over there with me. Also, Eating leftovers from Thanksgiving for 4 days straight! :-) I always make my mama's Brocolli Cheese Casserole, and the leftovers are BOMB!

Miss Anything? Rare Steak

Movement? Getting stronger every day. I'm starting to learn his schedule/patterns, and freak out if I haven't felt him move in a few hours. Guilty mommy moment- If I haven't felt him in what I feel like is too long, I'll drink 1/2 a soda to get him moving. I don't do this often so hold off on the caffeine lecture! I'm allowed to have one a day, but I only have 1 or 2 a week so zip it. Lol horrible I know, but once I feel him it makes me feel better.

Food/Drink cravings? Brocolli Cheese Casserole leftovers. They're all gone, but I'll be making another batch this week. ;-p

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!

Have you started to show yet? Oh Yes! This week was the first time someone from the building that I work at noticed/asked if I was expecting.

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor Signs? Nope

Belly Button in or out? More so flat, than an inney. Clay finds this part of pregnancy absolutely HILARIOUS! He makes a point to comment on my belly button every time he sees my belly...... yea.....hilarioius. Hmph

Happy or Moody most of the time? Very happy

Looking forward to? Same story, different week. Putting together the nursery :-)
